What is the difference between consignment and selling?

Consignment:
When you consign a designer item, you are essentially handing it over to a third party to sell on your behalf. You retain ownership of the item until it is sold. The consignor (you) and the consignee (Aimée Maison) will agree on a split of the eventual sale price, with the consignee taking a commission for facilitating the sale.
Selling:
When you sell a designer item to a consignment store, you're outright selling the item to the store. You receive immediate payment for the item based on the store's evaluation. Once sold, the store takes full ownership of the item and assumes responsibility for selling it.

What types of designer items can I consign or sell?

At Aimée Maison, we welcome bags, footwear, jewellery, watches, and accessories from carefully chosen designer brands. Please consult our list of featured designers here.
All submissions must be authentic and in a condition suitable for resale, including new with tags, new without tags, excellent condition, good condition, fair condition or vintage.

What are the conditions of the items listed on Aimée Maison?

We accept items in the following conditions:
New with tags
New without tags
Excellent condition
Good condition
Fair condition
Vintage

Certain items may be declined due to unrepairable damage or quality control issues. Please refer to our Condition Guide located on each product page for more information.

How do I consign or sell my item?

Kindly complete our Online Form, and we'll respond within 24 hours with a thorough review of your item.
Please be prepared to provide details about the authenticity of your piece.

How long is the consignment period?

The consignment window is 90-days from the date your item is listed on Aimée Maison.

If your item doesn't sell within 90 days, we can either lower the asking price, or you can reclaim the item.

If you choose to lower the asking price, we will continue to list your item for another 30 days prior to sending it back to you.

Please note that if your item doesn't sell, Aimée Maison does not cover the cost of return.

What should I do to prepare my item for consignment or sale?

Clean, repair, and present your items in the best possible condition. Ensure they are authentic and provide any necessary documentation or original packaging (e.g. dust bag and/or box).

What is required to prove my item is authentic?

Original receipts and authentication cards are desired but not required. All styles without the aforementioned authenticity documents are authenticated by LegitGrails or Real Authentication before being listed online. 
Should any item be deemed as counterfeit, an administrative fee of $150.00 will be charged, and our consignment or sale agreement will be terminated immediately.

Does Aimée Maison hold my item during the consignment period?

Yes, all items consigned on aimeemaison.com.au will be securely stored at our facilities throughout the consignment period. This enables us to authenticate items and capture photos and marketing material for the website or social media platforms.
Furthermore, upon the sale of an item, we guarantee proper packaging and shipment to ensure a smooth delivery process.

What is the percentage split for consignments and sales?

The below % is the amount you walk away with.

Consign:
 
70% for items under $4000
75% for items over $4000
Sell: 
60% for items under $4000
50% for items over $4000

How is payment received for items sold?

Consign: 
Once your item has been sold, you will be contacted within 24 hours. Your percentage of the sale will then be deposited into your account within 3-5 business days. 
Sell: 
Once we have agreed to buy your item, your funds will be deposited into your account within 3-5 business days.

What authenticity guarantees does Aimée Maison offer?

We implement stringent measures to authenticate all items, safeguarding against counterfeits. Items lacking original receipts and authentication cards undergo authentication by LegitGrails or Real Authentication prior to being listed on Aimée Maison.
If you have any concerns that your item is not authentic, please contact us immediately for further investigation. On the very rare occasion that you receive a counterfeit product, we offer a 100% money back guarantee.

What payment methods are available?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Paypal, Afterpay, Apple Pay, Shop Pay and Google Pay.

Will my item come with a dust bag and box?

Many of our items come with their original tags, dust bag, box, purchase receipt and authenticity cards, however, due to the nature of consignment and second hand sales, some will not.
Please refer to the description of the item you wish to purchase for details on what original accessories comes with it.
All items without an original dust bag, will be sent with an Aimée Maison dust bag for safe storage.

Are the images on the website of the actual product?

All images on Aimée Maison have been taken by our photographer and reflect the condition of the actual item you will receive.

Can I cancel my order once it has been placed?

Please make sure you choose your items carefully as once an order has been placed, it cannot be cancelled.

What care instructions should I follow?

Aimée Maison is not liable for the care or wear of items once sold. We do, however, recommend that you reference the purchased designer brands' care instructions directly to prolong your items lifespan.
